| dc.description.abstract | In contemporary society, it cannot be assumed that mothers will have to take care of the children because of their engagement into gainful employment and activities that alleviate livelihood in the home and all that are concerned with care-giving on their behalf. Due to this fact, care-giving responsibilities have been relegated to house-helps, grandmothers, kindergarten, teachers and many more to mention but a few. In the event children have developed an attachment with the care-givers regardless of who they are. In this Senior Research Project, the researcher is assessing the knowledge of parents on the effects of house-helps on the development of attachment on the children with a focal point being in Jamhuri and Woodley, Dagoretti South District, Nairobi City County of the Republic of Kenya. In Chapter one the researcher outlined the statement of problem as well as the objectives of the study. In chapter two, the researcher looked into theoretical and empirical literatures that are related to the study. In chapter three, the researcher gave a detailed outline on how she carried out the study using the questionnaire to gather the primary data. In Chapter four, the researcher did data analysis and interpretation of report gathered from the field ensuring that all the objectives of study are met as well as the research questions being answered. In Chapter five the researcher summarized all the chapters, making conclusions, recommendations that should help mothers/parents in understanding the caregivers who have committed their lives to take care of children in their absence and finally, suggesting areas where further studies may be carried out to compliment this work. | |
